Join us for our Women's Wellness Wednesday! Sweaty Betty Tribeca has joined forces with women in our community that inspire us! We will be kicking off the night with a chat and Q&A about self-love, caring for our brains, and overrall mental health. Meet the Speakers:
Julie is a personal trainer and performance coach who helps her clients live more productive, fulfilling lives by targeting the brain and nervous system. After a series of concussions left her increasingly unable to perform her job in marketing, Julie decided to switch careers and pursue her lifelong goal of working in fitness. She healed herself from depression, anxiety, burnout, chronic pain and injuries, to become an empowered business owner, emotionally stronger and more self assured than ever before. She firmly believes we all have the power to direct our destiny, to take control of our own health, happiness, physical and mental well being. Recently featured on the Dr Oz show, Julie is certified with NASM, and currently furthering her education with the Carrick Institute for Clinical Neuroscience and Z-Health Performance Solutions.
Elyse D. Schunkewitz, LCSW, works as a clinical social worker and a personal trainer at the crossroads of her interests in mental health and physical movement. Elyse serves as a primary clinician in the psychiatric emergency room of Bellevue Hospital Center, the flagship location of New York City Health+Hospitals. Outside her time at Bellevue, Elyse is a personal trainer and movement coach at the Marlene Meyerson JCC on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Elyse’s professional practice is informed by functional neurology, a brain-targeted approach to pain reduction and performance improvement. Elyse is in the process of growing an individualized mental health practice incorporating movement and functional neurology in which she assists clients with depression, anxiety, substance misuse, eating disorders, addiction, and self-esteem, among a variety of other conditions. When she is not working, Elyse enjoys brewing her own kombucha, surveying the bakeries of New York City for the best chocolate babka, weightlifting, and painting.
