Join Maria del Carmen Rodriguez, Afro-Latina with roots from Maunabo, PR and the Special Guest Yoga instructor of the month for an exciting wellness event that will transport you to the beautiful Caribbean! Get ready to rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul at Caribbean Wellness Rx with Sound Healing and Pranayama Yoga and Meditation. This in-person event will take place at 460 West Street, Amherst, MA, USA. Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture as you explore various wellness practices inspired by caribbean vibrations.

From sound healing, yoga, meditation, traditional herbal remedies, and all other elements that Caribbean holistic wellness embodies, you'll discover the secrets of living a healthy and balanced life. Don't miss this opportunity to escape to paradise and embark on a wellness journey like no other!


What to expect:

The Caribbean Wellness Rx evening will begin with Mindful Movement Meditation Yoga session with ease and gentleness. Mindful movement meditation yoga is a low impact technique to build mind and body endurance. The Yoga instructor's soft voice will guide you to safe and easy friendly stretching as you become more mindful and aware of your body movements releasing and feeling beautiful energy as you develop a connection between your mind and body.

After your yoga session you can lay back get comfortable on your yoga mat, hug yourself with your blanket and rest your head on your pillow and experience a sound healing session also known as sound bath with vibrations and harmony that will awaken and nourish your mind, body and spirit. Maria del Carmen will play singing bowls, Tibetan metal bowls, ocean and buffalo drum, chimes and other instruments that will travel down to your cellular level. You will leave feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and reconnected to homeostasis.


What to bring:

Wear comfortable clothing, ex sweats, yoga attire, etc. and bring a yoga mat for both the Mindful Movement and Sound Healing sessions. Bring your favorite blanket, eye pillow or anything that makes you feel warm, cozy, and at home. No previous yoga or sound healing experience is necessary.


About the Instructors:

Maria del Carmen Rodriguez is the curator of Caribbean Wellness Rx, A Sound Healing Paradise. She is Certified in Sound Healing, a Practitioner of Sound Therapies, a Practitioner of Vibrational Therapies, a Doctoral Student of Metaphysical Science in Natural Medicine, Co-founder of SoulCare Love, LLC, and the resident Sound Healing facilitator at Wabi-Sabi Yoga and Wellness, LP Wilson Community Center, The Collective Space in CT and at Studio 116 in MA to name a few.

Maria del Carmen brings her lived experience of sound therapy embedded from childhood and her extensive training and certifications in sound healing from reputable institutions into her overall practice. After building her skills, Maria del Carmen currently facilitates sound healing sessions in a variety of venues from nonprofit organizations, corporations, universities, yoga studios, assisted living centers, community centers, conferences, large public group settings to small private groups, individual sessions, and special events. In 2023 she was invited to provide a sound healing session at The Shift Network, a global stage with world-renowned holistic healers and practitioners.

In her sound healing sessions, Maria del Carmen utilizes a variety of instruments, including crystal singing bowls, Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, buffalo and ocean drums, chimes and other instruments, carefully selecting and playing them to create a harmonious and therapeutic environment. She tailors each session to the unique needs and preferences of her clients, allowing for a personalized and deeply transformative experience. Yolanda Ramos is a 200-hour registered Emboyoga teacher, a certified Qigong Infused Yoga teacher and Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker that does indidivual and group therapy with college students. She is also the founder of Healing from the Roots, LLC, which offers healing practices for recovery from trauma. She envisions a world filled with love, peace, joy, equity, and great health where all people experience belonging. She sees yoga asn qigong as a coulple of vehicles that can help us create this world. She is passionate about facilitating healing spaces, and supporting indigigenous ways of healing.
