Call for Competitors in Belize for the 48-Hr Virtual Caribbean Regional Hackathon!

The Trust for the Americas in collaboration with the Organization of American States (OAS) is excited to announce its second annual Virtual Hackathon Competition and its first regional competition between Belize, Jamaica, and Trinidad &amp; Tobago. This year’s theme falls under the Open Response + Open Recovery campaign. The campaign seeks to highlight the fundamental values of open government – transparency, participation, inclusion, and accountability – which are essential to COVID-19 response and recovery efforts. This regional competition serves as a hub for fresh and innovative ideas that will assist the region in making the necessary steps to adapting the values of the open government. This year’s hackathon is organized in collaboration with The Trust for the Americas, Organization of American States (OAS), OAS National Office in Belize, The Caribbean Industrial Research Institute (CARIRI), Institute of Law and Economics (ILE), DevCa, Citi Foundation, Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE), the Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB), The Ministry of Health and Wellness and the Ministry of Youth, Sports &amp; E-Governance of Belize. The competition will start at 08:00 AM on Thursday the 22nd of July, and end at 06:00 AM on Saturday the 24th of July. The pitch and jury deliberation will be held online across all countries, on Saturday the 24th of July at 09:00 AM.
