Caregiver Workshop
Families are invited to a FREE Caregiver Workshop and Family hike at Riverbend's nature preserve as we mark the start of Fall.
Come learn from parenting experts from the world of psychology, education, and learn about how the local public school district handles screens in school. Our panelists will discuss setting healthy screen limits with kids, plus how to replace screens with outdoor activities.
While caregivers participate in the workshop, Riverbend educators will lead children in fun, nature-based activities and outdoor exploration on the preserve.
This event is designed for caregivers of children in Pre-K through 8th grade. If you plan to bring a child(ren) outside of this age range, please reach out to us ahead of time so we can make sure we're prepared with activites that are engaging and age-appropriate for everyone.
The Panelists include:
- Dr. Melissa Anderson, licensed clinical psychologist working with children, adolescents and their families
- Dr. Mike Balkin, representative from Pencils Over Pixels
- Dr. Jill Shashaty, Associate Director of Education at Riverbend
Pizza and refreshments will be served at 5:00pm before we kick off the workshop at 5:30pm.
