Career Explorations Field Trip to the Tulsa Zoo

EPIC Students,

Calling all Middle School and High School Epic students in the Tulsa area! You've probably visited the Tulsa Zoo once or twice. But you've never had a field trip like this!

Join us on April 23rd at the Tulsa Zoo for a unique field trip experience for Epic students in 6-12th grade. During this field trip, Zoo staff will give a presentation on all of the careers that come together to make the zoo a possibility. Students will have the opportunity to experience hands-on learning, a question and answer time, and visit from one of the Tulsa Zoo's education ambassador animals. This will be a fun and educational experience you don't want to miss!

All 6th through 12th grade Epic students are invited to come and enjoy this field trip.

Epic students will receive free zoo admission for this field trip. Parents and younger siblings will have to pay to enter the zoo.

The presentation will have a limit of 50 people, so parents are encouraged to send their 6-12th grader into the presentation with Epic staff members. The presentation will last approximately 1 hour.

CHECK-IN PROCEDURE: Upon arrival, please check in with an Epic staff member who will be in Epic gear and located inside the entrance. We’d also love to see you in your Epic gear!

ITINERARY:

• 9:30 AM-Check in with Epic Coordinator
• 10:00 AM - Zoo presentation and tour begin
• 11:00 AM - Closing and opportunity for families to enjoy the Zoo

POLICIES: This event is for Epic students in 6-12th grade. It is free. You will register for a ticket using Eventbrite which will hold your spot as a reservation. Parents, please register yourself and each of your Epic students. This enables the school and the participating location to staff and plan appropriately. Our locations do have a maximum capacity for groups. Therefore, we ask that when registering your students, you only register Epic 6-12th grade enrolled students so that the spots are filled by our students.

Students who drive themselves can attend the Career Exploration field trips without a parent or guardian.

This is a public event and photographs and or videos may be taken during the activity. If you prefer your student to not have a photograph or video taken please let our Epic staff know during check in.

CANCELLATIONS: As a reminder, if you sign up to come but are unable to make it, please cancel your reservation using your Eventbrite confirmation email. This will open up spots for other students.

Inclement Weather Plan: If we have inclement weather we will send out communication by email from Eventbrite to let you know if the activity has been canceled.
