Pop Drone

Aplombusrhombus' Cardinal first played at the 2016 Ottawa Fringe Festival, where it was praised by audiences and critics alike, and won the University of Ottawa Emerging Artist Award. Since then, co-creator/performers Mitchel Rose and Madeleine Hall have workshopped the piece extensively with a team of collaborators, and are inviting audiences to a special workshop presentation and reception on December 1st.
A silent clown piece about Alzheimer’s disease, Cardinal takes place in the imagined space inside a man’s mind. The two performers depict an intimate battle between Memory and Disease as the latter lays her claim to the space, slowly transforming it from cardinal red to stark white. A trio of accomplished musicians will join the two performers on stage to perform a live rendition of the original score.
