About this event

Get a behind-the-scenes first look at reDiscover Cardboard City 2023, reDiscover's huge annual pop-up exhibit/activity space, this year at Westfield Century City. We have an amazing lineup of monumental cardboard sculptures from LA artists plus weekly artist residencies in a fun, funky, and curated space. As a special guest of reDiscover, you are invited for a sneak peek of this unique exhibit of cardboard art, exploring the intersection of creativity and sustainability.

As a thank you to our artist community, supporters, and friends, reDiscover is hosting this free, invitation-only Opening Preview, as a chance for you to see the art and try out the activities. You’ll be able to talk to the reDiscover team, learn how to get involved as a volunteer this summer, and catch up on our growing presence in schools and community events throughout Los Angeles. You don’t want to miss hearing about our soon-to-open second permanent reDiscover Center location, in Mid City!

With light refreshments, drinks, music, artists, activities, and YOU, this is gonna be a great party.

reDiscover Cardboard City 2023 is located on the second floor of this amazing shopping center, next to Eataly and Macy’s.

Rediscover develops youth’s creativity using real tools and sustainable materials. We want every child in Los Angeles County to have the tools, materials, spaces, and support to be a sustainable creative maker and keen problem solver. We operate public youth makerspaces in Culver City and Mid City, in-school and afterschool programs in over 65 schools in LA County, and community activities at farmers markets, libraries, and festivals. Rediscover puts tools from scissors to power saws in youths’ hands and teaches how to effectively use them as we support young people’s creative explorations.
