Caravan 222 was created in 2017 as an artist residency in Valparaiso, Chile. The "Parallel Universe" residency brought together 4 musicians/ songwriters from the bay area and flew them out to Chile to write an album and tour the country. This experience brought a unique sound and lasting charisma within the group, layering poetry aside experimental folk, psychedelic rock and Cosmic American Country music. Compared to such contemporary groups as Natural Child, Nude Party, Sturgill Simpson but more nostalgic than most with resemblances to The Flying Burrito Brothers, Doug Sahm and Brinsley Schwarz. This authentic new sound is greatly represented in the groups newest album "Country Bangers" put out by Berlin label Cabbage Records in early 2023. The 222 members have been residing in L.A. as of late, playing around so-cal and working on a hot new album titled "Country Bangers Vol. 2". Appropriately named for the amount of hits featured on this new full length record set for release sometime in the summer of 2024
