Capturing Conservation

Capturing Conservation

Overview

Join The Land Conservancy of SLO County for an evening with Roy Dunn and Team RED.

Cinematographer/photographer Roy Dunn and his team have captured incredible images of wildlife from San Luis Obispo County and beyond. Come hear from Roy, Emmet and Dakota (Team RED) about what it takes to capture this imagery, and how work like theirs supports local conservation efforts.

Doors open at 5:30 pm. Enjoy local wine and light hors d'oeuvres and mingle with Land Conservancy staff and board members before the event. At 6 pm enjoy a seated presentation from Roy and his team, discussing his background in wildlife photography – including tracking and iconic photography of mountain lion P-22 in Los Angeles. The presentation will include lots of behind-the-scenes anecdotes and conclude with an exclusive screening of Flight Feathers – a short film by Emmet Arries which follows the story of a red-tailed hawk chick after he is taken from his nest in the talons of a bald eagle (13m).

Stay after the presentation for a Q&A with the photographers and Land Conservancy staff.
