Captured! By Robots is a unique, metal-playing act led by Jay Vance (aka JBOT) featuring a robotic backing band. Vance, a former bassist for the ska bands Blue Meanies and Skankin' Pickle, initially created the robots in 1996 out of frustration with human bandmates.According to the band's fictional backstory, Vance built drummer DRMBOT 0110 and guitarist GTRBOT666, who then revolted, captured their creator, removed his eyes and intestines, and replaced them with a biocerebral chip. Renamed JBOT, Vance is now forced to tour the world with his robotic captors, playing music and enduring humiliation on stage.
