This is a FREE event put on by California State Parks and Recreation.

  • Meet at 13th Street and Capitol Avenue.
  • Program will be cancelled during inclement weather.
  • Registration is not required, but recommended.
  • Walk-ins are accepted if we do not exceed our tour capacity of 35 people.
  • Groups of 20 or more must register in advance.

Where should I park?

There is street metered parking on N street and L streets near the meeting place. The nearest parking garage is the City of Sacramento-Capitol Garage on 10th and L Streets.

Where is the nearest bathroom?

There is a public restroom near the meeting place.

How much does it cost?

The programs are free. Metered parking on Sundays are free.

What happens if it rains?

The tours will be cancelled due to rainy weather.

If the registration is full, can I still join the tour?

Yes, walk-ins are welcome, but groups must register in advance.

How do I cancel my registration?

You can cancel online at Eventbrite.com by going to "My Tickets" and then "Cancel". You can also email us at capitolmuseumevents@parks.ca.gov or call (916) 324-0333.

What should I bring?

This is an outside tour - please wear comfortable shoes and bring water, hat, or sunscreen, as needed, for your comfort.

Is this is a wheelchair accessible tour?

Yes, tours can be adapted to use the multiple paved pathways and dirt walkways through the park.
