Welcome to the 2024 DMV Fashion Week, operating under the banner of CAPITOL Fashion Week™, themed "The Rebirth of Fashion in the District." We're thrilled to announce NEW and ongoing partnership with DowntownDC BID! DowntownDC BID oversees a 140-block area of approximately 528 properties and numerous parks and public space, from Massachusetts Avenue NW on the north, including the Walter E. Washington Convention Center at Mount Vernon Square, to Constitution Avenue NW on the south, and from Louisiana Avenue NW on the east to 16th Street NW on the west. Hence the birth of the new home for Capitol Fashion Week at the renowned and newly renovated Franklin Park, in the heart of DC by 14th and K. Capitol Fashion Week 2024 will start on Friday, August 16th and conclude on Sunday, August 18th, 2024.
CAPITOL Fashion Week™ operates under the House of Clyopatra Foundation, a 501(c)3 Nonprofit organization, dedicated to nurturing creativity and fostering positive change in our society.
This year, Capitol Fashion Week is teaming up with a local DC high school to host a friendly competition. Students will be invited to submit videos showcasing their creative process in crafting unique makeup and or hairstyle looks. A panel of VIP judges will review these submissions and select the talented winners. The chosen winners will be given the opportunity to collaborate with our professional makeup artists and hairstylists throughout Fashion Week. This initiative aims to invest in our community and nurture the next generation of creative professionals. We aim to provide them with real-world experience and celebrate their talents, even at a young age!
CAPITOL Fashion Week™ is more than just a bi-annual fashion extravaganza; it's a visionary platform crafted to empower designers to unveil their latest collections ahead of the upcoming season. Embracing the innovative "runway-to-retail" model, our event offers attendees the unique opportunity to acquire cutting-edge designs straight from the catwalk, bridging the gap between fashion showcase and retail experience.
