This event is sponsored by Canton Firefighters Local 1580 and supported by Stoughton , Sharon, Walpole , Norwood fire unions. Doughboy uniforms and Northeast Rescue are also locate supporters. The event will be located at Irish Cultural Center in Canton, Mass. The event will begin at 8 am for registration. There is plenty of parking located on the grounds. The speakers include Pat Smith and Joe Minehan speaking on the Rapid Intervention topics and data collected from Project Mayday. Susan Brown is a clinican who works with Forge VFR with locations in Manchester, NH and Devens, MA. Forge VFR (Veterans and First Responders) is confidential treatment for those who serve and are struggling with mental health, substance use, and trauma. Dan Rinaldi from the Providence Fire department discussed his near miss story on Bowdoin St.Presentation: “Deterring the Domino Effect” In this short training presentation, Capt. AB Turrenne discusses six (6) common factors that contribute to the declaring of a MAYDAY and unfortunately, ultimately leading to a Line of Duty Death.The speakers have asked for a donation to the Boston Firefighter Burn Foundation instead of receiving payments for their services. Lunch will be provided . We encourage any further donations and will be offering a raffle items and a 50/50 raffle as well. The event will close around 1730 and we encourgage all particapants to join for a social hour afterwards in the Irish Cultural Center Pub
