Cannabis Hackathon. How to ensure future cannabis markets promote racial equity?

Join us for our first London Hackathon, looking at the future of cannabis markets in London and how we can help ensure changes to drug policy promote social justice and racial equalityThis event is being delivered by the Allyship between Social Action Network BLAKSOX and Transform Drug Policy Foundation, which has been formed to amplify the voices of Black communities as drug reform comes to Europe and the UK. Recent developments in the US and Canada have shown that legal cannabis markets can promote social justice and racial equality, but only if they are designed carefully. States such as Michigan, New York and Nevada have legalised cannabis in ways that effectively promote social and economic inclusion – but only after extensive partnership working with communities previously most harmed by criminalisation. Join us at our Hackathon event as we, learn from international experiences and start to explore how we can create UK focused solutions to this important and rapidly developing policy area. Who Should Attend ? <ul><li>Those who are interested in gaining market position in this emerging multi market as an ethical entrepreneur. </li><li>Those who are interested in learning more about the Racist Misuse of Drugs Act and helping to push for drug policy reform. </li><li>Those who are interested in the opportunity to become a member of the Allyship’s Change Maker network (premium access to information, events and opportunities for professional/entrepreneurial development, the first of its kind in the UK). </li><li>Those who attend will learn more about how we can use technology to drive social change as well as wealth creation. </li></ul>Expert presenters include:Jermain Jackman, Singer and Political Activist Ete Davies, Chief Executive Officer at Engine Gwenton Sloley, Director Crying SonsSteve Rolles and Jane Slater, Transform Drug Policy FoundationLee Jasper and Viv Ahmun, Blaksox Gary Mcpherson from FrocentricRefreshments will be provided.
