American College of Surgeons

The American College of Surgeons is co-hosting an exploratory effort using a hybrid Agile approach for multi-stakeholder development for cancer interoperability. The goal is to establish open source logic models, identify and recognize current clinical definitions and standards, map these to known terminologies and create bindings with value sets for standards consideration by appropriate international standards in HL7. We wish to capture interoperability in support of the Cancer Moonshot with use cases related to staging, clinical decision support for guideline based therapies, patient tracking for toxicities, complications, care coordination, patient care needs and overall outcomes. 
These efforts seek to include the Commission on Cancer and its members, HSPC, HL7 with CIMI and Cancer DTR, along with interested key government agencies including ONC, VA, DOD, IPO, AHRQ, NIH and NCI. All specialty societies involved in cancer care and cancer interoperability are welcome.
