Canary in the Coal Mine (Dani Moniz, DEIA Thesis Fellow MBET Senior Project) will be presented live in Caplan Recital Hall on Saturday, May 4th at 3:00 pm.
Join Dani Moniz for "Canary in the Coal Mine," a deeply urgent and heartfelt presentation that transcends the boundaries of a traditional MBET senior thesis. This is not a performance; this is an emergency. Through personal reflections and societal analysis, "Canary in the Coal Mine" sheds light on the dire issues of collective emotional neglect and the critical, widespread consequences of emotional illiteracy. This presentation is a call to action that delves into the profound need for emotional literacy to strengthen our communities and society as a whole. As the dying canaries in our collective emotional coal mine, we must heed this call to prioritize genuine human connection and cultivate a culture of emotional intelligence led by empathy and compassion, before it's too late. This presentation will briefly touch on sensitive subjects, such as mental health, suicide, violence and mass shootings, audience discretion is advised.
This event is free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged but not required.
