After a brief introduction of the topic by Pedro Aibéo, we will discuss Democracy and Architecture.Panelists: Prof. John Keane &amp; Prof. Saskia SassenModerator: Pedro AibéoSaskia Sassen is a Dutch-American sociologist noted for her analyses of globalization and international human migration. She is Robert S. Lynd Professor of Sociology at Columbia University and Centennial visiting Professor at the London School of Economics. Sassen coined the term global city.Born in southern Australia, John Keane is Professor of Politics at the University of Sydney and at the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin (WZB). He is the co-founder and director of the Sydney Democracy Network (SDN). Renowned globally for his creative thinking about democracy, John Keane was educated at the Universities of Adelaide and Toronto (where he was mentored by C.B.Macpherson) and King’s College, University of Cambridge.Pedro Aibéo is a Portuguese Architect (TU Darmstadt) and Civil Engineer (FEU Porto) with over 50 buildings designed and built in 20 countries. He is a Kone Säätiö Research Fellow, a Visiting Associate Professor at UNAM and at Wuhan UT, and a PhDc at Aalto University on &quot;Architectural Democracy&quot;. He is the founder of the Gamified Cohousing and a Deputy Member of Lohja&#x27;s Town Planning Board in Finland.
