About this event

Global esports organization Gen.G and Syracuse University are excited to announce Gen.G Campus Takeover @ Syracuse. The event will bring together students and administrators in the area, as well as esports industry professionals from across the globe, solidifying Syracuse's status as a premier esports university and destination in the region.

This September, Campus Takeover will feature keynote sessions from acclaimed speakers, conference-style panels, networking events, and more. While attending panel discussions and networking events, attendees will immerse themselves in the esports industry and learn how to best support the growing esports communities on their campuses and in their region.


This free conference is open to all: students, esports fans, professionals, administrators and more are welcome to attend!

Friday - Student Day (1 PM to 5 PM)

  • Student only programming will included workshops to prepare those wishing to enter the gaming industry.
  • Workshops include: Application Materials: Resumes and Cover Letter Tips, Foot In The Door: Interview Prep and Networking Tips, Crafting Your Post-College Life Workshop, and more.

Saturday - Esports Operations (9 AM to 6 PM)

  • Saturday's programming focuses around finding alignment between the worlds of sports, esports, and imaging a new esports world. Programming includes a variety of workshops, moderated panels, and roundtables.
  • Featured Keynote: David Higdon, Executive Vice President, Communications at KC Chiefs.
  • Other programming includes: Recruitment 101 by Syracuse University and Maryville University, Leading Like You Mean It: Small Acts, Big Shifts and a Culture That Stays by Sari Kitelyn, Esports to Employment Panel, Esports Business Case Study Competition, Power Esports Conference Rocket League showmatches, and an industry Happy Hour taking place after hours in Downtown Syracuse.

Sunday - Building Culture (9 AM to 3:30 PM)

  • Sunday's programming will provide opportunities to learn about building culture and intend in programs in a data-driven manner. Sunday will wrap with a public viewing of the winning case study presentations.
  • Featured Kenote: Clarissa Avendano, CFO, Gen.G
  • Other programming: Building a Resilient Scholastic Esports Ecosystem, Traditional Sports to Esports, Esports Research and Industry, Case Study Competition Winning Presentations (open to public).
