About the Akron Art MuseumThe Akron Art Museum, dedicated to enriching lives through modern and contemporary art, showcases regional, national and international art created since 1850. The museum’s collection is presented in a spectacular facility designed by Viennese architectural firm Coop Himmelb(l)au and includes over 5,000 works of art, with a strong focus on contemporary painting, sculpture and photography. Missing art class this summer? Or just looking for some more summer fun? Head down to Camp Creative and explore themed art exploration days at the Museum that focus on summer fun. You’ll enjoy guided artistic experiences as you create and play outdoors alongside an art educator. T﻿his sessions&#x27; theme is Nature! Activities include: <ul><li> Ochre painting (crushing stones and making pigment/paint)</li><li>Leaf Art – googly eyes</li><li>Rock painting</li><li>Nature mandalas</li><li>Pinecone animals</li><li>Nature stamping</li></ul>Every two weeks, there will be new materials and techniques to discover as you sharpen your creative skills by making messes and working together to solve artistic problems. Dress for a mess and artistic success! Art smocks provided. Bathing suits/water clothes &amp; towels are highly suggested for our Paint &amp; Water-themed days (check the calendar for each theme). Camp Creative sessions will be offered on the 1st &amp; 3rd Wednesday of the summer months from 11 am-1 pm. Camp Creative is intended for children aged 5-12 (siblings welcome). Drop in any time during the two-hour window. Grown-ups can stay and create or visit the galleries on their own but must remain in the building.FREE for member households/$15 for non-member households.
