About this event

Cambridge Black Business Town Hall

We want to hear from you! Join the Cambridge-Somerville Black Business Network for a Town Hall event discuss strategies and solutions and actions for creating a positive eco-system for Black Business in Cambridge. We want to hear from local entrepreneurs, experts, and community leaders. We'll explore what actions that need to be in place for Black businesses in Cambridge to sustain, grow and thrive.

The City of Cambridge released the long awaited Cambridge Disparity Report on December 21, 2023. The results are extremely disappointing. For example, the study revealed that the City contracted with businesses in the amount of $261 million dollars over a 5-year period, and only $60,000 went to Black-owned businesses. Other BIPOC businesses and women owned businesses did not fare much better in contracting with the City. You can read the entire report here and review an executive summary of the Disparity Report here.
