CALL FOR ART: “Utopian Her”

San Diego Art Directory in partnership with Hera Hub Carlsbad—a women-focused coworking and entrepreneurial community led by transformational coach Lisane Basquiat—invites artists to submit to "Utopian Her", a bold exhibition imagining feminist futures, collective liberation, and radical joy.

Rooted in Hera Hub’s mission of empowering women through connection, creativity, and business growth, this exhibition offers a platform to explore visionary and unapologetic expressions of hope, rebellion, healing, and future-building.

We invite artists of all backgrounds and identities to submit works that imagine and embody bold, utopian possibilities through a feminist lens.

Eligible Art:

Only wall-hanging artwork is accepted.

All mediums are welcome.

The size is not to exceed 48" on the longer side (or in diameter for circle or irregular shape artworks).

Since the artwork will be installed on a drywall in a co-working space, the weight of the artwork is a consideration for safety. Unusually heavy artworks will be juried out.

Preparing Your Art:

All artworks must be wired and ready to hang. Artwork not wired will be juried out.

Entering Details:

• Entry fee for up to two pieces - $22
• Entry fee for four pieces - $34
• Fill out the form in the confirmation email: artist's details, artwork details, and images.

Entry fees do not guarantee admission into the exhibit. Entry fees cover the cost of organizing and curating the show.

• Installation Day: August 15 (to be confirmed)
• Viewing Hours: Monday – Friday | 9 AM – 5 PM

Pro-Artist Sales Model:

Artists retain 90% of artwork sales.

The remaining 10% supports the programs of San Diego Art Directory.

Submission Deadline: August 1, 2025

After completing your registration and payment, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the Artist Intake Form. This form is where you will upload images of your artwork and provide your artist details.

If you don’t see the confirmation email within 10 minutes, please check your spam/junk folder. The subject line will include “Event Registration Confirmation”.
