About this event

Calgary Women in Energy is excited to present Allies in Energy 2024 - Executive Forum. At the 2023 forum, we brought together a diverse panel of industry experts, who courageously shared their unique perspectives on shifting the paradigm with respect to leadership as well as how they continually carve a new path forward to change the face of energy through diversity, equity and inclusion.

Our past forums have extensively covered topics including Female Empowerment, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Indigenous Relations, and Leadership. We encourage our panelists to share authentically, drawing from personal experiences and journeys that resonate with them. For this forum, we hope to explore the panelists personal journey, highlighting instances of conflict resolution, and how they, individually or collectively with their team, navigated through those challenges. Our objective is to foster constructive, positive, and effective dialogues that impart valuable learnings for our audience to implement in their respective workplaces.

The focus for our 2024 event centers on the intricate alignment of team dynamics, organizational culture, strategy implementation, operational models, and the pursuit of synergies. Specifically, we aim to delve into the realm of transforming conflict at interpersonal, community, and organizational levels. Our intended discussion areas encompass effective communication strategies and leadership approaches to navigate teams through conflict and change management. These discussions will revolve around various scenarios such as Mergers & Acquisitions, workforce restructuring, fostering a conducive corporate culture, problem-solving tactics, and executive change management.

We take pride in hosting speakers who uplift each other while actively supporting one another through sponsorship, mentorship, and other means of guidance.

Calgary Women in Energy (CWiE) is an inclusive, non-profit, oil women’s society dedicated to promoting, supporting and empowering women in Calgary’s energy sector. Members are directly engaged in all aspects of the energy industry. Working collaboratively with our male allies in the industry, CWiE is a dynamic collection of professional women with integrity and shared aspirations. We facilitate meaningful approaches to networking and embrace new ways of enriching our connections. CWiE strives to make a positive impact on both our industry and our community through charitable work, organic mentorship and education.

Calgary Women in Energy (CWiE) was established in January 2003 with a modest founding membership of six sales professionals gathering to discuss oilfield operations and how they could collectively exchange information and meet the objective of adding value to this exciting industry. This exchange group grew quickly and transitioned into a cohesive group of friends and colleagues with common interests running beyond operations.

With the ever changing energy industry and a number of new members we strive to be innovative and forward thinking in our approach to connect women in the energy sector. With events, educational session, networking opportunities and community contributions CWiE works as a team to learn and contribute more in the industry we are in.
