The CajunCodeFest is looking for the best innovators to create a "Smart Community" application or tool using local data provided by Lafayette Consolidated Government and the Lafayette Parish Assessor. Awards will be given for Best Solution, Best Student Team, Team Favorite and more! Over $10,000 in prizes and cash will be given.
What is a Smart Gigabit Community?
Lafayette, LA has joined an elite group of 15 charter members of the national network of Smart Gigabit Communities as designated by US Ignite. This program makes us a part of a national league of communities that are working to deploy tomorrow’s applications today. Each of the communities has made a significant commitment toward levering next-generation smart city and Internet technologies to keep pace with the world’s rapidly changing technology and economy.
