About the Akron Art MuseumThe Akron Art Museum, dedicated to enriching lives through modern and contemporary art, showcases regional, national and international art created since 1850. The museum’s collection is presented in a spectacular facility designed by Viennese architectural firm Coop Himmelb(l)au and includes over 5,000 works of art, with a strong focus on contemporary painting, sculpture and photography. Join us for the first Creative Aging Institute Summit!

On Tuesday Nov. 12, 2024 from 9:00am-2:00pm at the Akron Art Museum we will be breaking down barriers and enlisting members to a movement that seeks to build new relationships and explore innovative approaches to living with age and joy!Be inspired by a keynote address from renowned author Ashton Applewhite, and engage in insightful breakout sessions with Geriatrician Dr. Jennifer Drost and Ivana Medukic, coordinator of the Summa Healing Arts Program. Enjoy a delicious lunch and connect with fellow attendees in this enriching experience.Get creative with art demos, and don’t forget to bring your own T-shirt or purchase a tote bag from the museum’s gift shop to silk screen and show your support for the age equity movement.FREE.
