Is the event free to attend?

Yes and no. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the atmosphere at Refuge Coffee for free, including the playground, pop-up vendors, food, and drinks. However, entry into the animal encounter requires a small per-person donation. Tickets are $18 online when purchased in advance, or $20 at the door.

Is there a cost to meet the animals?

Yes. Entry to the animal encounter area has a small fee that helps support the animals and our zookeepers.

Are Zoo Club members free?

Zoo Club members are welcome to participate for free when they attend with a paying parent or guardian.

Will there be food and drinks?

Accepted Answer

Refuge Coffee + Beer will be serving coffee, beer, wine, and other beverages. Occasionally there may be food trucks outside during the event.

What activities will be available for kids?

Kids can enjoy coloring books, scavenger hunts, a small playground area, and a chance to see chickens on display, in addition to the animal encounter experience.

Can we feed the animals?

No. For the safety and health of the animals, feeding is not allowed.

Are there rules for interacting with the animals?

Yes. Please be calm and respectful around the animals. No yelling, running, or rough behavior in the animal area.

Absolutely. This event is designed for families, kids, and animal lovers of all ages.

Can I get a FREE ticket?

Accepted Answer

Yes—if you’re part of the animal nerd crew. Free for Zoo Club members, zookeepers and animal care  professionals, life science teachers, kids under 3, and local content creators (6K+ or mommy influencers). Show us your ID and you’re in!

Is Café & Cuddles accessible for guests with disabilities?

Not at this time. The venue currently has stairs and limited accommodations for mobility, hearing, or visual disabilities. Accessibility is very important to us, and improving it is part of our long-term goals as we continue to grow and expand future events.

Question 11

Do adults need a ticket if they aren't interacting with the animals?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Everyone entering the animal encounter area, including adults, must have a ticket, even if they don't plan to touch or interact with the animals. This helps us maintain a safe, comfortable experience for our guests and the animals.

Question 12

Can I drop off my child and come back later?

Accepted Answer

No. Children may not be left unattended or unsupervised. A parent or responsible adult must remain with them at all times. Because this experience includes live animals, adult supervision is required for the safety of both our guests and the animals.
