Axial Theatre presents CACTUS FLOWERS: A reading of four short plays in development.

Please join us Artistic Director Cady McClain and members of the Axial Ensemble are joined online by special guests to read four short new plays in progress and discuss the works for developmental purposes. Audience feedback is encouraged.
DECEMBER 18th (Zoom):
Features guest moderator Brad Forenza and playwrights Dana Leslie Goldstein (winner of New England New Play Competition, Harold and Mimi Steinberg Playwriting Prize, Different Voices New Play Award, ACTF New Play Award, Henry Hoyns Poetry Fellowship, AWP Intro Award, and Academy of American Poets Prize); Rita Anderson (Rita served as a Dramatists Guild Regional Representative and as Faculty for Interlochen. She went on scholarship to The O’Neill, and she won the Ken Ludwig Playwriting Award, and the top national prize from The Kennedy Center for “Best Body of Work"); and Dana Burbano (Winner: Nu Voices festival at Actors Theatre of Charlotte in 2011, Center Theatre Group’s 2018-19 Writers Workshop cohort and is in the Geffen’s Writers Lab in 20-21).

Special guests were actors Ingrid Rogers (Bosch), Jon Lindstrom (True Detective), and Darlene Tejeiro (Star Trek).
FEB 27th (Zoom):
Special guests were Emmy© nominated actor James Patrick Stuart and SOHO Film Festival Executive Director Sibyl Santiago.
MARCH 20th (Zoom):
Special guests included Yoshi Sudarso (Power Rangers) and three-time Emmy© award-winning actress Tamara Braun as well as founding member of Honor Roll! and member of EST (Ensemble Studio Theater) Jacquelyn Reingold (writer: The Good Fight, Grace and Frankie, In Treatment).
APRIL 24th (Zoom):
Special guests included NAACP Award Winner Dominic Hoffman and Bosch Star DaJuan Johnson.
MAY 15th (Zoom):
Brought special guests three-time Emmy© Nominated actress Marci Miller ("Days of Our Lives") and two-time Ovation Award Winner and NAACP Award Winner Dominic Hoffman.
JUNE 26th (Hybrid Zoom and in-person):
Held in person at the Hudson Valley Writers Center, this month's show brought out local playwrights to mix and discuss their work with visiting playwrights, both online and in person, including Artistic Director Carson Grace Becker of Chicago Dramatists.
AUGUST 28th (Zoom ):
Brought us special guest moderator Brad Forenza and playwrights Pamela Morgan, Donna Latham, Morgan Fears, and Mark Harvey Levine (pictured below).
