Sacred Heart Music Center offers an eclectic mix of live music performances in a dramatic, historic setting. It has become a unique venue in downtown Duluth for regional, national and international artists, and gives the audience a musical experience that’s both intimate and awe-inspiring.Sacred Heart has a rich history. The building, which was built in 1896, was once the Sacred Heart Cathedral. In 1985, the Catholic Diocese in Duluth announced that Sacred Heart’s congregation would merge with St. Mary Star of the Sea. That’s when a community group formed to rescue the beautiful historic space from the wrecking ball and preserve it for generations to come.Today, a non-profit organization continues to fulfill that mission. Sacred Heart has become a showcase for music in Duluth’s Central Hillside neighborhood. It’s home to a recording studio and the historic Felgemaker organ. And new efforts are underway to instill a love of music into area children with youth outreach programs.Along with musical performances, Sacred Heart has hosted a variety of other public and private events – even a yoga conference! From weddings and receptions, to parties and meetings, Sacred Heart is available to rent for many special events.Sacred Heart is a testament to the magic of music, the local arts scene, and preserving historic treasures. You’ll feel the special connection to this space when you come inside!

The Cactus Blossoms are currently on a world tour in support of their latest release "Easy Way."

<p>Blood Harmony. Whether it’s The Beach Boys, Bee Gees or First Aid Kit, that sibling vocal blend is the secret sauce in some of the most spine-tingling moments in popular music. The Cactus Blossoms – Minneapolis-based brothers Page Burkum and Jack Torrey – offer compelling evidence that this tradition is alive and well, with a deceptively unadorned musical approach that offers “creative turns of phrase, gorgeous harmonies, and an ageless sound” (NPR All Things Considered), not to mention spine tingles aplenty. Their 2016 debut You’re Dreaming, a stunning and transporting collection of original songs, earned high praise from Rolling Stone and Vice Noisey, tour stints with Kacey Musgraves and Lucius, and a perfectly cast performance on the third season of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks. Now their unlikely rise continues with new album Easy Way, to be released on their own label Walkie Talkie Records.</p><p>Opening the show will be singer/songwriter David Huckfelt of the Pines. Huckfelt, a Minneapolis-based singer/songwriter, will perform music he composed during a two week Artist-in-Residence stay at Isle Royale National Park.</p>
