About this event

Ceremonial Grade Cacao

I offer two varieties of ceremonial grade of Theobroma Cacao (which literally means ‘Food of the Gods’) from Lake Atitlan region of Guatemala, and prepared by local families using traditional methods. It is unlike anything found in typical stores in a powdered cocoa form.

What is included in a Cacao Ceremony?

The ritual includes:

  • the creation of an intentional and sacred space,
  • a cup of a ceremonial dose of cacao carefully mixed with hot water and optional flavors,
  • guidance in the pacing to ingest this precious plant medicine
  • breath work,
  • tuning into our bodies,
  • focusing and shifting energy,
  • Bringing focus to the heart and love for those closest to us and to the world
  • physical stretching and/or dance.

My purpose in offering ceremonies

To support a world of empowerment and love,  personally, in rlationship/family and wherever in the world our journey's lead us.

Frequently asked questions

What the facilitator's experience?

Erik Allen has been participating in shamanic equinox, solstice, and Mayan fire ceremonies for over a decade. In 2021, he underwent an intensive training with practitioners from Guatemala working with the Cacao medicinally and in the leading of this ceremonial practice; and holding ceremonies since.

I've done these before, what's unique here?

Erik's shamanic connection to the owl totemic energy, connected to the underworld in Mayan tradition, allows a space for connecting to our feelings of those passed as well as honoring life in the face of mortality. His long-standing martial arts practice informs movement and potential focus.
