About the Training:

Bystanders Protecting Children is a 1 1/2-hour training that teaches you how to be an active bystander in child sexual abuse prevention and response. A bystander is a person who witnesses a boundary violation or sees a situation where a child is vulnerable. Being prepared to intervene as an active bystander is key to preventing child sexual abuse.

In the training, you will learn about examples of boundary violations and inappropriate behaviors. Participants will also better understand actionable ways to make spontaneous and planned interventions to protect children. This training includes a video featuring adult survivors sharing their experiences followed by a facilitated group discussion.

Bystanders Protecting Children is from Darkness to Light®, which is a leader in child sexual abuse prevention with evidence-informed education proven to increase knowledge, improve attitudes, and change child-protective behaviors. This training will be facilitated by an Authorized Darkness to Light Facilitator.
