Join us at the beautiful Winnetu Oceanside Resort in Martha’s Vineyard for a day focused on improving the lives and careers of Black women in healthcare and medicine!

Our program will begin with a morning session, including a keynote speech by Dr. Wiljeana Glover, a panel discussion, and partner presentations.

The evening program will consist of networking and showcase Black women entrepreneurs and leaders in biotech.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Wiljeana Glover

Wiljeana Jackson Glover is the Kletjian Foundation Distinguished Professor in Health Innovation and Entrepreneurship and an Associate Professor of Operations and Information Management at Babson College. Prof. Glover’s research examines how improvement and innovation practices help healthcare organizations achieve more equitable and effective outcomes. Her teaching engages undergraduate, graduate, and executive education students in implementation-focused experiential learning in the U.S., Rwanda, and Brazil.

As Founding Faculty Director of the Kerry Murphy Healey Center for Health Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Babson, Prof. Glover develops the Center’s strategy and led a team that was awarded Babson’s first ever NIH grant. Their programming supports graduate, undergraduate, and professionals to leverage innovation and entrepreneurship to solve challenges for clinical settings as well as bring new healthcare solutions to market. Through the center, she also co-leads research teams that examine emerging trends in health innovation and entrepreneurship, health equity, and health AI and analytics.

Prof. Glover received recognition as the 2022 Wickham Skinner Teaching Innovation Award recipient from the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS), one of Poet & Quants Top 50 Undergraduate Professors in 2020, the Changemaker Award from the Institute of Social Innovation at Babson in 2018, and has won several best paper awards.

Prof. Glover completed her postdoctoral studies at the Sociotechnical Systems Research Center at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), PhD and M.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech, B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech, and B.A. in Mathematics at Albany State University (GA). She is also Co-Founder and COO of Match Medical Practice Solutions, a healthcare revenue cycle management firm.

Getting to the Winnetu Oceanside Resort

The Winnetu is located on Martha’s Vineyard, at 31 Dunes Road, Edgartown, MA 02539.

After arriving in Boston, MA, we recommended taking a coach bus to Woods Hole, MA, and the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard on May 28, 2024 or earlier. Once in Martha’s Vineyard, a taxi or Uber can be used to get to the Winnetu Hotel.
