For background, HomeStart is a nonprofit organization based in Boston whose mission is to prevent and end homelessness. CHAF is their biggest annual fundraising effort to raise funds that cover the start-up costs to get into housing, including first-month's rent, last month's rent, broker fee and security deposit.
