Asheville on Bikes

Support Asheville on Bikes in their $10,000 match challenge at Button Up for Bikes on Wed. Button Up for Bikes is AoB’s annual giving event. It includes heavy hor devours, complementary Wedge beer or wine and presentation from AoB stakeholders.
2017 has been a transformational year for the AoB organization. AoB worked to:

Advance active transportation infrastructure in the River Arts District, 191, and Haywood Rd in West AVL
</LI>
<LI>
Advocate during the North Carolina General Assembly’s Lobby Day with BikeWalk NC to advance support of active transportation at the state level
</LI>
<LI>
Publish a variety of policy positions regarding infrastructure and design standards in Asheville.
</LI>
<LI>
Hire two lead instructors and purchase new bikes and equipment for our after school bike program at Asheville Middle School
</LI>
<LI>
Lead two candidate forums, each with record attendance, focused on the issues of transportation
</LI>
<LI>
Undertake a strategic planning process to strengthen our voice, streamline our goals, and identify needed resources
</LI>
<LI>
Continue to innovate our community rides to welcome more participants to urban riding.  
</LI>
<LI>
Support  active transportation initiatives like Walkable Wall St and Open Streets
</LI>
<LI>
Launch a new website to keep our community up to date and in the loop of Asheville on Bikes including our viral story on the road rage incident involving a local cyclist.
</LI>
</UL>
Join us at Wedge at Foundation on Wed. Dec. 6th and help us reach our $10,000 match goal.
