5th Annual Butterfly Day is a non-profit, environmental festival held at the Mountain Mermaid in Topanga every year. It's a uniquely wonderful Topanga-style event for all ages, featuring a live-butterfly habitat, California native butterfly plants for sale, exhibits and talks by environmental organizations, live music festival, spoken word performances by GetLit, a native Tongva land-blessing ceremony, beehives, reptiles and raptors, face-painting, arts and crafts, food and drink, and so much more! The Butterfly Day music festival will be headlined by Sonic Butterfly, a long-string harp created by Andrea Brook that literally turns the entire Mermaid into a musical instrument!

Park along Topanga Canyon Blvd. and take short shuttle ride from Theatricum Botanicum, 1419 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd. __See Shuttle Signs__ADA Parking provided at The Mermaid___Street Parking strictly prohibited on Cheney Drive. Please respect the neighborhood.

Topanga Butterfly Day is a fun, family and community-oriented non-profit, environmental initiative dedicated to promoting and protecting butterflies, bees, and all other pollinators essential to our entire eco-system! The annual Butterfly Day at The Mermaid festival features music, live butterfly house, native butterfly plants for sale, evironmental education exhibits, face-painting and art activities for kids. Proceeds of Topanga Butterfly Day are used to raise environmental awareness and encourage the planting of certified butterfly habitats throughout the Santa Monica Mountains. Beneficiaries include The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, Topanga Elementary Charter School Enrichment Programs, Creative Visions, Poison Free Malibu and more.
