About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Slithers and Crawls poresents this workshop on creating a butterfly cloche display. The artist will walk you through creating your own display using found butterflies.

The art of preserving and displaying once-living creatures has existed in one form or another since the days of ancient Egypt, but it flourished during the Victorian period, when the rise of science in England coincided with an emphasis on beauty and design, propelling both taxidermy and entomology into prominence.

While you create at the new Community Art Center and Gallery in Wrightwood, meet other creators and artists, and enjoy a fun evening.

All supplies are provided. You only need to bring yourself. Ages 16+

Limited to 8 participants only.
