Event description
What Went Wrong in Parkland?

About this Event

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel revealed how 17 people were murdered at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

Metro Editor Randy Roguski and Reporter Brittany Wallman will discuss the Sun-Sentinel's Pulitzer Prize-winning reporting that examined the prevention and response failures by law enforcement, the school district and social services in a high school touted as the state’s safest.

Join us to hear what’s changed — or not — in the aftermath of Parkland and the Sun-Sentinel’s stories. We’ll discuss the lessons this horrific episode holds for schools in America, the debate over gun control and ethical dilemmas the reporters faced.

The Burleigh Media Ethics Lecture is free and open to the public.
