What you will need for the training:

You can have an actual sand tray and figures as well and you will have access to two sandtraps apps to use during the training if you do not have a physical sand tray and miniatures to create sandtrays


Learning Objectives:

1. Discuss the origin and history of Sandtray play Therapy.
2. Identify the therapeutic value of sandtrays as a powerful technique to incorporate into play therapy sessions with clients.
3. Discuss the process for creating a physical and virtual sandtray in play therapy sessions.

Sabra Starnes is a Clinical Social Worker who has been practicing for 23 years in the DMV area. She worked for 13 years in the District of Columbia Public School System as a School Social Worker.

She is the founder of Next Place Therapy Services a private practice that has offices in Largo, Maryland, and Washington, DC.

She became a Registered Play Therapist in 2003. And a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor in 2015. She presents both in-person and online play therapy training towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist.
