Building Operator Certification (BOC) is a nationally recognized training and certification program that focuses on energy efficient building operations and preventative maintenance procedures. The Level I training provides building operators with knowledge and skills enhancement in the key activities associated with energy efficient building operations, including HVAC controls, common opportunities for operational improvements and building scoping for energy efficiency. The training includes lectures, discussion, small group exercises, tests and project assignments and will require about 74 hours of time. This series will be taught online through Zoom with live, instructor led lectures on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Central Time. See below for detailed class schedule.

Tuitions for this series is $1,695. Some discounts are available, see below. Additionally, some students may qualify for a tuition reimbursement upon successful completion of the training. Visit boccentral.org/training and click on your state to see if a local partner is offering a tuition reimbursement.

The tuition covers all class materials, books, and credential recognition materials. Student handbooks will be shipped directly to registered students. Please provide accurate shipping address at registration checkout. Register before April 29th, 2025 to ensure your books arrive before the first session.

DISCOUNTS

  • Employees of public or nonprofit organizations in Michigan can register for $1295. Email boc@mwalliance.org to confirm elibility and recieve a discount code.
  • Individuals who live or work in Illinois can register for $1400.
  • Military veterans can register for $1495. (This discount is limited. Please inquire with boc@mwalliance.org to ensure availability.)

SCHEDULE: This series will be taught remotely through Zoom with live, instructor led lectures on Tuesdays & Wednesdays between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Central Time. If a student is unable to attend a session, we will provide recordings of the class and the student will be responsible for watching it and completing any assignments or tests for that class on their own time. Students may not miss more than 12-hours of class time in order to qualify for tuition reimbursement and certification.

CANCELLATION POLICY & REFUND INFORMATION: No refunds will be provided for registrations canceled less than seven business days before the start of the first course in a training series. However, employers may substitute a different employee if the original registrant is unable to participate. Students may not miss more than 12-hours of live class time in order to qualify for tuition reimbursement and certification. If a student misses a class, they will be sent a recording of class to review.
