UC San Diego Extension

Teamwork has been proven to create organizational synergy - where the group results are far greater than any individual could accomplish. It is the secret sauce for obtaining discretionary effort whereby individuals contribute more than they usually would to achieve results. Yet, getting people with different personalities and expectations to work towards a shared goal is not always easy. 
This session is focused on tools and techniques to help build successful teams and motivate team members to achieve more than they could individually.  Participants will leave with a strategy and action plan for building their own high-performance teams. Successfully incorporating remote workers into teams will also be covered. 
Who should attend?
Anyone who manages teams or is creating teams to further their business enterprise.
Speaker Bio:
Rich Mayhew is the President of The Mayhew Group, a consulting company that is a trusted advisor to organizations that helps them develop high-performance leaders and teams, He is also an executive coach. His clients span the technology, pharmaceutical, entertainment, energy and utility, health care and financial services industries. He was previously Vice President at Bank of America. Rich holds a B.A. in Finance. He also holds a PPOD in Organizational Development from Columbia University. Rich is on-call faculty with the Center for Creative Leadership. Rich is also Chairman of the Board of the San Diego Children's Choir.  
Small Business Management 1-hour Monthly Sessions: 
Growing a small business can be as challenging as it is rewarding. Critical decisions often have to be made quickly. There are a lot of aspects to running a business that are not always covered in traditional business classes.  During these 1-hour interactive sessions, leading industry practitioners will explore key topics that are important to daily operations and company success.  All sessions are complimentary and refreshments will be served. 
This complimentary session is provided by UC San Diego Extension in collaboration with Downtown Works.
