About this event

Please join us for the sixth convening of the Climate Ready SMC Collaborative on Wednesday,September 25 which will focus on building countywide readiness to rising temperatures and extreme heat.

The convening will bring together stakeholders to share the intersection between, and build capacity for, addressing climate change, health and social vulnerability.

  • 8:30 – 9:00 am (Registration and Breakfast)
  • 9:00 am - 12:00 noon (Convening)

MEETING GOALS

  • Better understand how factors such as geography, education, and economic and social context impact the ability of residents, workers, infrastructure and businesses to adapt to climate change impacts.
  • Debut initial overlay results of social vulnerability indicators over newly developed flooding/sea level rise, extreme heart, and wildlife climate scenarios.
  • Showcase model approaches to advance a community's resilience and strengthen capacity to protect the health and well-being of our residents and workforce.
  • Identify pathways to implement resiliency solutions and affirm commitment to action on Climate, Health and Equity.
