The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) is the voice of America's 11.6 million women-owned businesses. Since 1975, NAWBO has helped women evolve their businesses by sharing resources and providing a single voice to shape economic and public policy.NAWBO is a non-profit organization of more than 6,000 members that represents women business owners across all industries. NAWBO San Diego is one of about 60 chapters across the U.S.NAWBO HistoryNAWBO traces its origin to a small group of Washington, DC businesswomen who began meeting informally in 1974 to talk about mutual experiences, exchange information and develop business skills. Recognizing the value of the group, they incorporated as the National Association of Women Business Owners on July 5, 1975. Two years later, they began recruiting members from across the country; in 1978, the first chapters were formed. The San Diego chapter has been in existence since 1991.

She’s on a mission to support thousands of women in the launch and growth of their business.Lisane Basquiat, Owner of Hera Hub Carlsbad Lisane Basquiat is the founder of Shaping Freedom, a personal growth company that trains individuals on how to gain empowerment through internal congruence and spiritual alignment. She co-administers The Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat and is the owner of Hera Hub Carlsbad. For each, she is fueled by her vision for healthier and stronger familial dynamics and legacy.Nichole MacDonald, CEO of Sash Group, Inc.Nichole has raised over $3M in crowdfunding and an additional $3.5M through angel funding, factor financing, and merchant loans. She is most well-known for her Kickstarter campaign that raised $1.2M in 30 days. She will be sharing all the steps it took to get to that level of crowd-funding success and how those same principals were used to secure angel and factor financing. She is an international culture and inclusion thought leader, data strategist, keynote speaker, writer, and facilitator. For over a decade,Samara has equipped leaders with the mindset and skills to work with those who are different, by mitigating bias and integrating culture into business practices and metrics.Bring your questions as panelists will be available in different corners of the space for individual connections or conversations to further support attendees.Prior to the panel discussion, we will be installing our amazing <a href="https://nawbo.org/san-diego/about/leadership" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">2023-2024 Board of Directors.</a> Decisions about NAWBO San Diego operations are made by our volunteer Board of Directors, which meets monthly.
