The Arc Arapahoe &amp; Douglas Counties, in partnership with PEAK Parent Center, invites parents of school-aged children (5 years +) with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) to learn about what is necessary to adequately support children in the classroom, the doctor’s office and community.Location: ENGLEWOOD HIGH SCHOOL, 3800 S LOGAN ST, ENGLEWOOD, CO 80113One-time Fee: Members $10 / Non-members $15 / Light Dinner, respite/child care will be provided (if requested).Financial assistance available, contact Luke@arc-ad.orgDuring this educational series participants will receive information about services and supports for children with I/DD. The program helps parents learn resources available to them, along with how to address 504 and/or Individualized Education Program (IEP) concerns. You will also learn how to navigate the Wrightslaw Special Education website. After this education series parents should have an understanding of the child system, from single entry points to waivers, healthcare, private insurance and Medicaid. The Arc Arapahoe &amp; Douglas Counties’ Knowledgeable Child Advocates will conduct an Advocate Panel (informal panel answering questions). During this series, an IEP training will be provided on Nov 6, 2019 by PEAK Parent CenterPlease RSVP by October 14, 2019
