About this event
We cannot go back to normal because “normal” didn’t work. This pandemic has magnified cracks in the foundation of our democracy. To create the future we need requires living up to our Islamic and universal values with bold changes that address social, racial, and economic inequities. We must rise to this exceptional moment to build a better normal. Join us to meet this challenge. Save the date. #101020

Rana Ayyub, an independent journalist and Global Opinions Writer for the Washington Post, is a vital voice for truth, covering such issues as politics and social justice in India. After self-publishing “Gujarat Files: Anatomy of a Cover Up”, she became the victim of intense threats and harassment which prompted UN Special Rapporteurs to issue official statements calling for her protection. Despite these threats and the government's efforts to silence those who speak truth to power, Ayyub has remained unwavering in her commitment to journalistic integrity, passionate for bringing the truth of corruption to light, and courageous in the face of great personal threat.
