Aperçu

Join Dr. Misha Rai as we explore techniques and and other texts that will help us create complex and dynamic female characters.

In honor of Women's History Month, Elizabeth's is thrilled to announce our March workshop titled, Build Your Own Heroine led by the brilliant, Dr. Misha Rai.

What do characters like Christina Yang from Grey’s Anatomy, Pecola Breedlove from The Bluest Eye, Amy Dunne from Gone Girl and so many more all have in common? Their creators spent significant time crafting them into complex and dynamic figures. In this workshop, Dr. Misha Rai will walk us through various techniques, research, and tips on how we create characters that seem even realer than people we know in our own lives. More than that, we will explore what it means to holistically represent women in fiction and discuss the importance of tapping into and representing both their vulnerability and their strength.

We do hope you join us for what is to be an exciting event. Please email workshops@rachelcargle.com for further inquiries.
