SPEAKERSDave Ruffcorn serves in the Iowa State Fire Marshal’s Office – Building Code Bureau. Dave is a Licensed Architect and has over 30 years of Architectural practice. Dave is the State of Iowa’s Building Code Commissioner and is responsible for operation of State Building Code, review and enforcement, State administrative rules covering building codes, and administer and enforce chapters 104A and 104B of the Iowa Code.Bill McAnally has over 50 years in the construction industry with a focus on energy efficient and healthy building methods. As a carpentry instructor for Iowa Central Community College, then Department Chair of Industrial Technology he focused on energy efficient construction, partnering with several area organizations building community projects. Bill was named the top community college instructor in Iowa in 2001 by the Iowa Association of Community College Trustees. Bill now consults on various building projects for utilities, the Iowa Economic Development Authority and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach/COSC and appears monthly on Iowa Public Radio’s “Talk Of Iowa – Home Improvement Day.”
