The most important outcome for this project is to successfully construct eight new homes for lowincome families in Paterson. These homes will give eight families a safe and affordable place to call home. All properties are within our strategic 12-block area of the 4th Ward of Paterson, where we are concentrating our building efforts to help create a vibrant community. We will partner with families to build eight three-bedroom, Energy Star-certified homes that will provide them with decent housing and first-time homeownership. Additionally, these houses will be added to the much-needed affordable housing inventory in the 4th Ward and help to stabilize the neighborhood.
The families who complete the homeowner selection process and will ultimately purchase one of the homes must complete 400 hours of sweat equity towards the program. This can be volunteer hours building their homes or another site, volunteering at the ReStore, or other creative ways to contribute to our mission.
