The BUHS Music Department announces its 53rd musical, Les Miserables: School Edition, a Musical by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg School Edition specially adapted and licensed by Music Theatre International and Cameron Mackintosh (Overseas) LTD. Les Misérables is the world’s longest running musical, based on Victor Hugo's novel and featuring one of the most memorable scores of all time. Set in nineteenth century France, Jean Valjean is released from years of unjust imprisonment, but finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment. He breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life, initiating a lifelong struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe Valjean can change his ways. Winner of over 100 international awards, this musical phenomenon is an epic tale of passion and redemption in the throes of revolution. Performances will take place on Thursday, February 19 at 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 20 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the Brattleboro Union High School Auditorium. Tickets for all performances are $10 for General Admission and $5 for Students/Seniors. All Brattleboro Union High School students get one FREE ticket to Les Miserables: School Edition.
