Ocean of Compassion (Gyalwa Gyatso) Buddhist Center (GGBC) is the Silicon Valley center affiliated with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition, FPMT, hosting events in the San Jose, Santa Clara County area.We are Tibetan Buddhists in the Gelug lineage. His Holiness the Dalai Lama is the spiritual inspiration for our organization and Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche is the spiritual director.GGBC conducts on-going courses in Buddhist philosophy and practice. We also host special events with authentic teachers in our tradition, including Tibetan lamas, qualified international monks and nuns, experienced Western Dharma students, and specialists in Tibetan arts and medicine.Gyalwa Gyatso Buddhist Center is a registered non-profit religious corporation, 501(c)(3), and donations are tax-deductible. Buddhism in a Nutshell — with Don Isaacson 
This is an introductory course that provides a general overview of basic Buddhist philosophy for complete beginners or a “refresher” for those who have some experience. It does not assume that those who come for this course know anything at all about Buddhism or about meditation.  Anyone is welcome to attend who is interested in learning something about Buddhism in its various forms presented in a Tibetan Mahayana context.      This is a great opportunity to learn about Buddhism in a relaxed environment, and each class includes time for meditation and discussion. Join Don Isaacson, an experienced long-time practitioner, as he introduces you to Buddhist principles with a focus on how they can help you in your daily life.

Don Isaacson is an advanced Dharma student having followed the FPMT Basic Program courses in person for many years, and the FPMT Masters Program online, 2008 to 2013. Don currently serves on the Board of Directors at Land of Medicine Buddha in Soquel.
