The Boston Student Rights App is the first of its kind in the country and was designed by and for students!

The app will:

  1. Serve as a reference for student's rights and responsibilities
  2. Keep students up to date regarding information and changes in the BPS Code of Conduct, and Chapter 222 Legislation, meetings, current campaigns, news, and coordinator contact information
  3. Provide up-to-date information about BSAC school representatives
Why a phone app?

The BPS Code of Conduct is one of the most progressive in the country and has served as a model to other cities working to eliminate harsh school discipline policies that push students out of schools and disengage them from their educations.

By harnessing the power and popularity of technology, we will be able to effectively share information on school discipline processes and students’ rights and responsibilities. We believe students need to be aware of their rights and alternatives to exclusion, and that restorative school discipline is essential to dismantling the school-to-prison-pipeline and to building an equitable public school system.

BSAC and Youth on Board are excited to share this pilot project that will be unique to our district and will inform and empower thousands of BPS students!
