Broom Making Workshop

Learn the timeless craft of broom making, leave with a beautiful handcrafted hand broom made from scratch in a welcoming communal environment.

In this hands-on workshop you’ll work with broomcorn and twine to make a small whisk stype hand broom using traditional techniques. No prior experience is needed. Just bring your curiosity and and willingness to work with your head, heart and hands.

What you’ll learn
•       A brief history of broomcorn and hand brooms
•       How to select, sort, and prepare broomcorn
•       Core binding and weaving techniques for a sturdy broom head
•       Finishing, trimming, and caring for your broom so it lasts

What you’ll make
Each participant will complete one hand broom to take home—ready to use for gentle sweeping, dusting, or as a handmade piece for your wall.
