Bronze Sword Casting Class 

Greg Wenderski is a science teacher, blacksmith, and Bronze Age swordmaker from Austin, Texas. This class started out as a hands-on extension of an Ancient Civilizations class, but has grown into an event that draws people of all ages--scouts, homeschoolers, makers, martial arts enthusiasts, Forged in Fire fans, knife makers, and several historical society groups.

Come cast a bronze sword! Over the course of two evening classes from 6-10 pm, you'll choose a Bronze Age sword or dagger design and make a careful sand cast of it to be poured in molten bronze. Next, you'll spend a few hours sanding the swords to a smooth finish using a combination of power sanders and hand sanding. Finally, you'll choose a hardwood handle and learn to install brass rivets using a hammer and anvil.  Our bronze classes are consistently five star rated and  produce high end blades that will hold an honored position in your collection. $275 per sword includes all materials. Class size limited to 10, so grab a friend and strike while the iron is hot.  Two night classes meet from 6-10 pm Thursday & Friday night.
 
Giving this as a gift, but unsure of your lucky someone's schedule?  No worries--a purchased ticket can be used for any of our future events and does not expire, so if this date doesn't work out, a future one will.
